A break from straight lines !

March 1st, St David's Day.  (Patron saint of Wales.)

Over the past two weeks I've been concentrating on a series of outdoor studies of local buildings. This has been a real challenge for me as I'm far more used to the soft, organic lines of the more general landscape.

 Burnley Town Hall.  Sepia Wash.

Canal Back streets.  Ink Wash.

Burnley Library.  Sepia Wash.

High St, Colne.  Felt Marker.

Later in the year I hope to make a foreign painting trip and perhaps be presented with scenes as below.

Imaginary scene !  Sepia Wash.

For the time being I'm really looking forward to getting back into the countryside and having a 'break from straight lines'

I hope this reaches you in good spirits and remember it's Shrove Tuesday on March 8th so get those pancake supplies in!

Please use the link to my website at the bottom of this page to see a larger variety of my work.
Keep smiling.
